Builder in Dromana and Safety Beach
Taylor Built builds custom homes, knockdown rebuilds and renovations in Dromana and Safety Beach, from the steep slopes of Arthurs Seat to the flat bayside streets near the water.
Every project is run personally by Taylor, from the first site visit to handover.
Building on the hillside and the flats
Dromana and Safety Beach offer two very different kinds of site. Up on the Arthurs Seat escarpment, blocks are steep with sweeping views across Port Phillip Bay, which means careful planning for access, cut and fill, retaining walls and stormwater. Closer to the water, sites are flatter but often sandy, with higher groundwater and coastal exposure to plan for.
Hillside properties can also sit under landscape, vegetation and bushfire controls. We work with your architect or designer early so these are resolved in the design and the price, not discovered once work starts.
What we build in Dromana and Safety Beach
Custom and architectural homes designed to make the most of bay views
Split-level and sloping site homes with the engineering and access planned from day one
Knockdown rebuilds on established bayside blocks
Renovations and extensions, including upper levels and decks that open to the view
Questions from Dromana and Safety Beach owners
Does a steep block add much to the cost?
It can, through retaining, footings and access, but the costs are predictable when they are planned early. We give buildability and cost feedback while the design is still flexible.
Do you work with our own architect?
Yes. Most of our custom homes start with an architect's design, and we are happy to meet you both at concept stage. We also offer design and construct if you don't have a designer yet.
