Builder in Rye, Blairgowrie and Tootgarook
Taylor Built is based in Sorrento, a few minutes from Blairgowrie and Rye. We build custom homes, beach houses, knockdown rebuilds and renovations across Rye, Blairgowrie and Tootgarook.
Every project is run personally by Taylor, with one point of contact and regular site updates.
Building between the bay and the ocean
This stretch of the Peninsula runs from the calm bay beaches to the exposed ocean coast at Rye and Blairgowrie back beaches. Homes on the ocean side face strong south-westerly winds and salt-laden air, while bayside blocks deal with sandy soils and shifting dunes. Both affect footings, cladding, windows and fixings, and we specify for the conditions of each site.
Many blocks are covered in coastal tea tree and sit under vegetation or coastal planning controls. We work through these with your designer before construction, so the build starts with approvals in hand.

Questions from Rye and Blairgowrie owners
We live in Melbourne. How do we keep track of the build?
Many of our clients live elsewhere for part of the year. Taylor sends regular photos and updates and is on site himself, so you always know where the build is at.
What materials last best near the ocean?
It depends on exposure, but durable cladding, marine-grade fixings and well-specified windows make a big difference. We talk through the options with you and your designer during pricing.
